Hey {{first name | there}},

Welcome to the 6th edition of the StrategyHub behind-the-scenes newsletter. Last edition I talked about how to ask your company to invest in your professional development.

Despite all the thinking that’s gone into this, I’m still nervous.

“Am I sure everything is perfect…?”

“Maybe I just need to re-record this one lesson…”

“What if people aren’t that interested…?”

It’s easy to believe that creating strategies gets easier with experience. And in some ways, it does. Having a waitlist of 1455 people who’ve said “Tom, I’m interested in buying your new product” is objectively better than not having a waitlist.

But there are always doubts.

Always.

But when you’ve built a new product or service by following a tested playbook, you start to realise that your fears are probably unfounded.

The playbook I followed for StrategyHub follows the same data-driven ethos I teach inside the course itself:

  • I didn’t arbitrarily decide to create a new product - I asked readers exactly what they wanted to see from Strategy Breakdowns.

  • I didn’t randomly decide the overall course focus - I spent months interviewing readers to understand exactly what they need.

  • I didn’t go away and build this course in private - I built it out in the open, sharing the thinking and data that has shaped the product. And now, thousands of people are rooting for its success.

  • I didn’t arbitrarily choose what learning outcomes I’d teach in the tutorials - I conducted extensive strategic research to identify exactly what my ICP is actively looking for and discussing online.

  • I don’t assume the first version of the content is the best - I’ve gathered and implemented feedback at each step along the development journey to ensure each design decision is validated and data-driven.

  • And I’m not just going to hope that people decide to buy next week - I’ve architected a smart launch strategy that I’m confident in.

I’m going into launch week feeling confident that I’ve built the right product for the right people. Because I’m doing everything with intention.

Whether or not your decide to invest in StrategyHub next week, there’s one learning that I really hope you’re able to take away from this behind-the-scenes series:

The best strategies don’t depend on luck.

They depend on data. They create the right products (according to data), price them correctly (according to data), and make sure that people actually need them (according to data).

StrategyHub provides a systematic approach to generating data-backed insights using free internet tools. Whether you are working at a large tech company, a consultancy/agency, a startup, or even building your own business. StrategyHub is a shortcut to making more correct strategic decisions, more often.

What’s next?

On Sunday I’ll send one final behind-the-scenes newsletter covering why I don’t want everyone to buy StrategyHub.

Then, on Tuesday, I’ll you an email with a few logistical details about the launch.

A day later, on Wednesday 16th October, I’m releasing StrategyHub.

Thanks again for reading this, and all the other behind-the-scenes emails I’ve sent you. I appreciate your time and attention.

I hope to see you inside StrategyHub.

Cheers,

Tom
